Durham Freemasons is launching a new online Secretary Admin System on 1st October 2026, designed to support Lodge Secretaries and Chapter Scribe E’s and improve how membership information is maintained across the Province.
The new system will give Secretaries and Scribe E’s a simple online way to keep key information up to date, while helping the Provincial Membership Team maintain accurate records and better understand membership movements across our Lodges and Chapters.
From launch, Secretaries and Scribe E’s will be able to maintain their Lodge or Chapter page on the Durham Freemasons website, including updating the current annual subscription, joining fees and average dining costs.
The system will also provide a clearer way of managing prospective and new members. Secretaries will be able to view candidates referred to their Lodge by the Provincial Membership Team and record the dates of their ceremonies as they progress through the degrees, including their Exaltation into Chapter.
Candidates who come directly to a Lodge through proposal by an existing member can also be registered on the system. This will allow the Membership Team to record and maintain their progress alongside candidates referred through Provincial enquiries.
The system will also allow details of members who resign to be submitted directly to Province, helping ensure Provincial membership information remains accurate and current.

The new system forms part of Durham Freemasons’ continuing work to improve membership administration, provide better information to Lodges and Chapters, and give the Provincial Membership Team a more accurate picture of membership across the Province.
