St Hilda Double Joy
St Hilda Lodge No 240 welcomed the Provincial Grand Master John Arthur and a Deputation of his Officers to join in the celebrations of 240 years of existence. The Lodge room was full to capacity and after opening the Lodge the Master Kenneth Webster introduced W Bro Bernard Hope who delivered an entertaining oration and then W Bro Canon Ronald Black who blessed the expertly restored terrestrial and celestial globes which were proudly on display in magnificent cabinets specially made for that purpose.
Kenneth then presented John with a cheque for £2,400.00 towards the 2021 Festival which took the Lodge past their target, thereby qualifying for the Gold Pin which John presented to the Charity Representative, Chris Raven , and also the accompanying certificate to mark this very special milestone which Kenneth accepted on behalf of the Brethren of the Lodge.
The festive board saw the celebrations continue with the serving of an excellent meal in a great atmosphere and in response to his toast John paid tribute to all of the Brethren of St Hilda Lodge in their efforts in raising funds towards the Festival and congratulations on keeping this fine Lodge going so strongly in tradition with its long history.
Well done St Hilda
