JuneA fantastic evening at Murton Hall Farm in Wingate as a beacon is lit to celebrate Her Majesty’s Jubilee. A big thank you to our host Andrew Thompson and to Her Majesty’s Deputy Lord Lieutenant Dame Maura Regan OBE for doing us the great honour of lighting the beacon. Our AsstProvGM Andrew Moule was the official representative for Durham Freemasons. Also special thanks to Ken Howe for his musical entertainment.
AsstProvGM Gordon Brewis is seen lighting the Beacon at Chopwell as the official representative of Durham Freemasons.
Clinton Leeks OBE, AssProvGM did likewise at Aldin Grange Farm, Bearpark where he was accompanied by a piper and bugler.
Intake Farm, Frosterly was the setting for another Beacon built By Stanhope Lodge members. The Deputy Lieutenant Anita Atkinson, accompanied by the Provincial representative Bill Hobson did the honours and all gave a rendition of “God save the Queen”
All four Beacon events were held similtanously.
