Laura boosted with £1000 COVID-19 Grant from Durham Freemasons
Technology teacher Laura Watson began 3D Printing production of protective visors at the onset of the current pandemic to be given free of charge to care homes and other NHS facilities.
Initially using the facilities at both Sunderland University and the Word South Shields, Laura who had produced 1000 visors was desperately in need of additional funding to increase the capacity of the not for profit project, which would also see local community organisations benefiting from its legacy.
The Grant will assist with the purchase of additional 3D Printers to help with production, which will be donated to local community art facilities when they are no longer required for the production of the masks to help stop the spread of COVID19 (the Coronavirus).
Together we are making a difference.
