Several likeminded Freemasons from around the Province came together in May 2023 to set about forming the lodge. The proposed lodge name of Gambrinus became a firm favourite as a legendary European cultural hero celebrated as an icon of beer & brewing. Interest proved to be very popular and by November 2023 a petition for warranting the lodge with 43 founding signatories was sponsored by Lumley Lodge No. 5807 and submitted for consideration.
Gambrinus Lodge No. 10054 was granted the petition of warrant by The Most Worshipful Grand Master on the 8th day of March 2024.
