Finchale Priory Lodge is part of a vibrant community of freemasons in Chester le Street. We have just over 30 members and like to meet regularly for drinks and other social activities. Our members range from 20s to 80s and work in all sorts of jobs including the Prison Service, electricians, teachers and sales. The one thing that unites us all is the desire to make ourselves better, have a good time and raise money for charity.
What We Do
We have a strong focus on the quality of our ritual, which is supported by a weekly practice and meet up in the bar. There is a great opportunity to meet people from our lodge and others who visit.
The dining after our meeting, known as the Festive Board, is an enjoyable place to be and a great opportunity to meet more like-minded people. We want to make good men better by increasing confidence and understanding of freemasonry.
Why Join Us
We are an intimate lodge that meets in an exciting masonic hall, with a public bar (a local CAMRA Club of the Year). We meet up regularly and we also have an annual social evening (ladies’ night), which is an excuse to dress up and invite wives and partners to the building.
