Old Barnardian awarded GOLD at school
The October meeting for Old Barnardian lodge members, who normally meet and the Barnard Castle masonic hall, was an evening of celebration. Approximately 120 brethren had gathered to witness the installation of Ian Groves and due to their number, the meeting was held at the Barnard Castle school. The representative of the PGM was the Assistant Provincial Grand Master, John Thompson, who was presented with 3 cheques during the second rising from Ian on behalf of the lodge; TLC £50, Benevolent Fund £100 and a cheque for £3,000 towards the 2021 festival.
After a fantastic banquet at the festive board John thanked the brethren for their generous hospitality and for the significant donations presented to him. John further advised that the festival donation now takes the lodge to achieve their gold target and continued to present a gold certificate of achievement to Ian and a gold lapel pin to the lodge Charity Steward, J. Asquith.
