New Year joy as delighted parents welcome little bundles of joy at Sunderland Royal Hospital

January 2019

Our Assistant Provincial Grand Master and Consultant Obstetrician at Sunderland Royal Hospital, Craig Steele, once again decided for Durham Freemasons to ‘give out’ TLC teddies to the new year baby arrivals for 2019.

New mum Chelsey’s first baby was Sunderland Maternity Ward’s first for 2019. Delivered just before 3.30am on New Year’s Day, Baby Ariah weighed in at a healthy 6lb 13oz.  Proud mum and partner, Scott, were delighted to receive Ariah’s very first teddy bear from Craig.

The duty team of midwives continued throughout the morning making sure all the New Year Mums received Teddies for their babies. Freddie, Ariah and Aria are all pictured receiving their first teddies.

An article featuring the Teddies has also been published by the Sunderland Echo, available here.
