Defibrillator Training

March 2019

Chester-le-Street Masonic Centre was the setting for some essential training, on Sunday 3rd March, when a number of local members and some of their wives received instruction on how to use the defibrillator which had been installed outside the building last year.  The training, given by members of the local St John Ambulance Service, included important information on how to give special care to infants, children and the elderly.  The training was very much “hands-on” with everybody who attended using the training equipment to “assist” dummy patients.

The session was so well received that the St John team have offered to repeat the training later in the year so that more members can benefit.

On behalf of Chester-le-Street Masonic Centre, Rob Thompson took the opportunity of making a donation to the St John team to show the appreciation of local Lodges.

During the session attendees were told about a very useful St John First Aid phone “App” which many have now downloaded. This is available for Android and Apple and If you do not have a similar one on your phone then this is recommended.

Our thanks again to the St John Ambulance team – Yvonne, Joanne, Courtney and Joshua who are pictured with Malcolm Barlow,  Rob Thompson and Phil Rann.
