He was elevated on 24th April 1995 in
Spennymoor Royal Ark Mariner Lodge No 981. 
He is now Worshipful Commander of that Lodge in 2009.
He is also a founder Member of
Hackworth Royal Ark Mariners Lodge, No.761
and was Worshipful Commander of that Lodge in 2001.

He was appointed to Royal Ark Mariner Provincial Grand Rank in 2005
and was appointed to Royal Ark Mariner Grand Rank in 2009.
