Excellent Companion Peter Athen Smith was appointed Third Provincial Grand Principal on 5th May 2006.

He was Exalted into Dunelm Chapter No. 4079 on 6th January 1981.

He served as 1st Principal of Dunelm Chapter No. 4079 in 1993, of Willington Chapter No 4028 in 1994, and of Universities Chapter No 2352 in 2005.

In 1998 he was appointed to the office of Past Provincial Grand Scribe Nehemiah.

In 2006 he was appointed to the office of Past Grand Standard Bearer.
